New Year, new equipment hire contracts – don’t be that builder.

This wet season is already looking a little wetter than last, which is great because we didn’t think it could get any drier than bone-dry! As we prepare for Christmas, much site equipment like temporary fencing and portable toilets will be returned as business shuts down for a couple of weeks.

This is the ideal time to review the equipment and services you need in the new year, and hopefully streamline it a little more to make life (and business) easier in 2019.

Before you re-hire equipment or renew your service contracts, we suggest you ask yourself these three questions.

  1. Am I using multiple contractors for equipment hire and servicing, when I could be using just one?

    Managing multiple separate contracts can make things complicated when they need not be. Are you hiring your temporary fencing and hoarding through one contractor, your portable amenities through another, delivery and collection through another again, and your liquid waste serviced through yet another company?

  2. Am I happy with my existing equipment and servicing?

    Would your site benefit from privacy screening, secure fencing or additional toilets? Would your business benefit from having your company’s branding displayed professionally on fencing surrounding your site?

  3. Do I really want to be that builder who doesn’t offer an onsite toilet?

    Just because you were that builder in 2018, doesn’t mean you have to be in 2019. Do right by your team, your subbies, your site and the other builders nearby and provide a portable toilet. (We have lockable fencing and hoarding to keep your site and equipment secure!)
